Social Reach For The Win

Research undertaken by millennial-focused publisher Bustle found that 81% of millennials say social media is the most effective way for brands to reach them. Instagram Tests Standalone Direct Messaging App

Although the messaging app is only available in a select few countries (Uruguay, Chile, Turkey, Italy, Portugal and Israel), we could see Instagram direct messaging application available in Australia depending on the feature’s success. Instagram recently released a statement, “We want Instagram to be a place for all of your moments, and private sharing with close friends is a big part of that…”

10 Most Watched Ads In 2017 Revealed

As 2017 draws to a close, the 2017 YouTube Ads Leader Board with the most-watched ads has been released. In first place with 150.3M views goes to Samsung India Service. Check it out below. Police Recruitment Ad Boosts Enquiries by 600%

New Zealand Police released a humourous, ethnically diverse recruitment advertising campaign. The multicultural campaign not only increased recruitmentenquiries by 600% but saw a 898% increase in web traffic on the day of the ad launch. Now that’s what you call a successful campaign! 6-Year-Old Makes $11 Million A Year From Reviewing Toys On Youtube

 

Starting out just a mere 2 years ago, Ryan, a 6-year-old children’s toy reviewer, now boasts an audience of 10 million subscribers. The family run YouTube channel generates around $1 million per month from advertising alone. According to Forbes List, Ryan’s channel ranks in 8th place for highest-earning YouTube celebrities. Pretty sweet gig to say the least!

Apple In Process Of Acquiring Shazam

According to TechCrunch, Shazam (the popular app that identifies songs, TV shows and movies in seconds) is signing a deal with Apple. The rumoured price is said to be around the $1 billion mark. Although it’s not clear what changes Apple will make post-acquisition of Shazam, we are excited to see what Apple plans.
